Artificial rain from a building roof in China solved the heat problem

Air conditioners (ACs) have been used to combat the summer heat for decades in most countries around the world.

But new methods are now being implemented in crowded apartment buildings in China to keep temperatures normal during extremely hot weather.

One of these methods has gone quite viral in recent times.

Residents of a high-rise apartment building in Yuncheng, Shaanxi Province, China, no longer need AC.

In fact, artificial rain falls from the roof of the building, which reduces the temperature of the air and surface around the building by 5 to 8 degrees Celsius in a few minutes.

According to Chinese media reports, a sensor-based misting system is being used for this purpose, which discharges water from faucets on the roof.

These water droplets fall down the building and create a rain-like experience.

This artificial rain system works on the scientific principle of evaporative cooling, meaning that a very fine mist is released into the atmosphere and these droplets evaporate and then absorb the heat in the surrounding atmosphere, cooling it down.

This is a similar process to how sweating cools our bodies.

This system is designed to work on very hot days so that the water dripping from the roof can evaporate when it comes into contact with warm air.

This process also consumes much less energy than AC.

Such systems are also being used in various parks, plazas, and bus stops in China.
